B is for Baby Blanket

Ok I need everyone to take a look and give me your opinion. Do you think the letter B is too small for the square? Does it look lost? Should I put a border around it?

I am not sure if I like doing this on this fabric. I have decided that the fabric is evenweave and I did it over 1 square. Should I have done it over 2?? I have never done anything over 2 before. I have stitched on 18 count aida many times but the holes are smaller on this and very hard to stitch.

  1. I would have done it over 2 with 4 to 6 strands of floss. Just my thought.

  2. I'm not sure, but it almost looks like either 22ct or maybe 25ct. I think the letters will be fine... maybe a border around them to make it bigger? If not a border, then maybe do it over 2 with 4 strands of floss...

  3. I probably would have done it over 2 with more strands of thread.

That being said, it looks lovely.

  4. Think maybe over two, it needs to be bigger. As to the strands, maybe three.

  5. I would do as others have suggested, stitch over 2 using more threads.

  6. Gotta agree with everyone else. Over 2 would be best. I wouldn't go more than 3 strand of thread though.
I do think though that it looks lovely and if you just put a border around it, it could look quite nice. That would save you frogging the threads and starting again.

  7. I agree that the letter should be bigger but perhaps instead of a border you could add a picture or two of baby things that start with the letter or as my daughter suggested a baby animal for each letter.

  8. Love the colors, but I do think stitching it over two, especially on one of these afghans, is a good idea. You can always add things to it, but are you doing anymore letters on it? If not, it would make it easier to just add. INHO
